Officina Stellare secures new contract with Leonardo for the supply of high-speed Optical Communication Terminals to support the first orbital plane of Leonardo’s proprietary Earth Observation constellation.

Events & News

We are proud to announce a new contract with Leonardo for the supply of high-speed Optical Communication Terminals (OCTs) supporting the first orbital plane of Leonardo’s proprietary Earth Observation constellation.

This achievement marks a significant step forward in the industrial deployment of our space laser communication technologies and reinforces Officina Stellare’s role in enabling secure, high-capacity optical connectivity for next-generation satellite networks.

Developed in partnership with Skyloom Global LLC, an IonQ company, these terminals will enable ultra-fast inter-satellite and space-to-ground data transfer, contributing to what is set to become the world’s first commercial Earth Observation constellation equipped with such advanced optical inter-satellite communication capabilities.

As we continue expanding our laser communication capabilities, this achievement confirms Officina Stellare’s evolution from technology development to industrial-scale production, supporting the future of resilient, secure, and high-performance space communications.
