DYNAMIC OPTICS
Innovative adaptive optics technologies
A large series of solutions for Earth based and space applications
The company is a spin-off of the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnologies of the National Research Council.
In December 2020, it was acquired by Officina Stellare SpA.
Adaptive optics can correct for fast aberrations change generated by atmospheric turbolence. Dynamic Optics offers a large series of solutions. Both deformable mirrors and deformable lenses can be used in telescopes covering all possible specifications.
Deformable mirrors offer excellent wavefront correction performaces with up to hundreds of actuators and fast wavefront sensing.
Deformable lenses are a very good solution for small/medium size telescopes where compactness and easiness of use are important. Deformable lenses can be installed without major changes to existing setup and used with our fast Shack Hartmannwavefront sensor for real time wavefront correction at high frequency at any wavelength from visible to telecom wavelengths ad 1550nm.
Founded in 2017, Dynamic Optics (DO) develops, manufactures and delivers products based on innovative adaptive optics technologies for applications ranging from life sciences to optical communication. The company operates in markets related to microscopy, vision science, astronomy, free space optical communication, and high-power lasers, all delivering commercial products and supporting research activities. Dynamic Optics is also working to develop deformable mirrors and lenses for use in a Low-Earth orbit space environment.
Based on proprietary technologies for which the company holds dedicated patents, DO has unique experience in the design, development, production, and supply of systems based on:
- Deformable mirrors with piezoelectric actuators (both bimorph and stack)
- Multi-actuator deformable lenses
- Shack Hartmann wavefront sensors based on CMOS, InGaAs, and other sensors for UV, VIS-NIR, SWIR, and Mid-IR applications.
- Real-time adaptive optics control systems (hardware and software).
