Officina Stellare signs new contract with Leonardo S.p.A. for high-resolution optical systems

Officina Stellare secures a major contract with Leonardo for the supply of an initial series of optical assemblies for Leonardo’s high-resolution space telescopes for Earth Observation from low Earth orbit.

These advanced optical sensors are also intended for integration within Leonardo’s proprietary satellite constellation, one of the most comprehensive and significant Earth Observation programs in Europe.

The contract, valued at approximately €9.2 million over three years, includes not only the development of cutting-edge optical assemblies, but also engineering activities for the industrialization of large-scale integration processes. The first flight model is already being delivered for PLATiNO3, a mission led by the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI).

This milestone reinforces the long-standing partnership between Leonardo and Officina Stellare, while confirming our leadership in the design and production of multi-mission optics and payloads for Earth Observation.
