We are pleased to announce the signing of a new multi-year contract with Thales Alenia Space Italia for the design and construction of a complete optical ground station for laser communication applications, as part of the HyDRON (High Throughput Optical Network) program, funded by the European Space Agency (ESA).
The HyDRON program aims to create the world’s first multi-orbit optical network with ultra-high-speed space transmission capabilities, extending terrestrial fiber optic networks into orbit.
This project includes the development, implementation, and validation of units that are key to achieving reliable and efficient optical communication between satellites and ground stations.
The HyDRON Element #2 project leverages the expertise gained from previous developments by Officina Stellare in the field of optical communications and represents a crucial step towards the future infrastructure of global telecommunications, ensuring greater security and independence from traditional networks.
