COAT 2025

Officina Stellare’s optical and lasercom team will attend the COAT2025 Workshop for Communications and Observations Through atmospheric Turbolence, taking place in  Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, from 7-9 April 2025.  

The advancement of increasingly sophisticated optical systems necessitates a comprehensive understanding of atmospheric turbulence and the development of specialized mitigation techniques. Although initially driven by astronomical applications, these challenges now extend to areas such as ground-level imaging, satellite monitoring, optical free-space telecommunications both ground and space. 

This workshop aims to provide a broad perspective on current research in this domain. It will explore the impacts of turbulence and mitigation strategies, particularly in demanding scenarios such as intense turbulence. 

Topics such as: knowledge on turbulence conditions; mitigation strategies based on innovative optical solutions such as single aperture adaptive optics, multi-aperture solutions or integrated optics architectures, new wave-front sensing approaches etc, will be addressed during the workshop.
