OPEN POSITIONS
Mechanical System engineer
Reporting to the head of engineering, the candidate will lead the development of Phase A/B of a minisat and its subsystems, with particular focus on thermo-mechanical aspects. The work demands the ability to communicate efficiently about different technical aspects of a product, or a mission. The systems engineer is expected to perform technical accounting on various subcontractor. Documentation must be prepared and maintained accordingly assuring consistency and traceability.
The activity will see involved an industrial consortium in which Officina Stellare is the Prime and has directly in charge the Thermo-mechanical design. All the others parts will be developed by the Sub-Contractors.
Main activities:
- Technical responsibility for system level activities
- Thermo-mechanical design development
- Define development plan
- Definition and management of technical requirements and specifications
- Architectural definition
- Conceptual system trade-off
- System budgets definition
- Define system and subsystem requirement
- Technical handling and supervising subcontractors
- Satellite AIT/AIV definition
- Coordinate the Engineering specialists
- Lead the preparation of technical documentation for reviews with the customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Support AIT, AIV Plans preparation
Qualification and capabilities:
- Knowledge of System Engineering principles
- Proven technical and analytical capability
- Thermo-mechanical design capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive attitude and ability to leading a work team
- University degree in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
- 3-4 year experience in mechanical system development for space applications
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of English Language
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multi-language, multi-cultural team
- MS Project, Office
Appreciated:
- Preferred Knowledge of optical payloads
- Programming skills: Matlab/Simulink, Octave, Openmodelica
- Requirement management tools
- Knowledge of aerospace systems applicable standards, such as ECSS
